About Get Hastings
Get Hastings is a free local arts, culture and community magazine celebrating the uniqueness, creativity and diversity of Hastings, St Leonards and surrounding areas. It showcases the many brilliant people, places, organisations and independent businesses in Hastings St Leonards, Bexhill and surrounding areas, that make the area so unique, creative and diverse.
It started as an online magazine back in 2014 but the town has changed since then and we felt that Get Hastings needed to make a comeback…
It is run by a dedicated team of creatives but we are always interested to hear from any writers, illustrators and photographers who would like to contribute to future issues. We feel passionate about where we live and we want to share that passion with you.
We are not-for-profit and all members of the Get Hastings team provide their creative skills for free. No one takes a wage. However, we endeavour to give paid work and valuable experience to young local creatives and opportunities for writers and photographers to have their work published in a beautiful magazine. All money from advertising goes directly towards covering the printing costs. Please consider donating:

Our Mission Statement
Our values and behaviours provide the basis of how we work together, how we communicate and what we should expect from each other. Our values are rooted in honesty, integrity and fairness, and a sense of duty to the reader and our community.
We are curious and innovative and interested in celebrating creativity and telling unusual, inspiring and engaging stories that uncover interesting facts, whilst striving for quality and accuracy in our articles. However, we are prepared to fail and willing to learn, and we will correct any facts that are found not be accurate in articles and publish the correction online.
We are committed to promoting and respecting equality, diversity and inclusivity.
While our contributors hold their own values and beliefs, we cultivate a supportive and open culture, recognising there are broad range of views and opinions held in the community. We want to share a wide range of these views that collectively help to embrace diversity, champion inclusivity and treat everyone with respect.
The Equality Act 2010 protects individuals from being harassed or victimised because of race, gender reassignment, sexual orientation and sex, physical or mental illness and disability, amongst other protected characteristics. We provide a platform for trans, non-binary, and gender-fluid writers, artists, photographers, designers and illustrators who would like to contribute work to Get Hastings magazine in print and online. And we will not tolerate any form of discrimination or online abuse and will remove any discriminatory comments from our social media channels or on our website.
We care about the planet.
